Mixed Feelings

A disappointing conclusion after a promising first season.

Overall, it felt like they were just trying to throw in a bunch of Holmes stories and other references without much thought to the overarching narrative and character building.

This season is essentially a compilation of “Hey you know Jack the Ripper? How about James Bond? Do you remember how good The Dark Knight was? Would you like it if we just copied a large part of that?”.

Most of the arcs feel very meaningless in retrospect. There might be a couple plot points that carry to the next arc, but they could be cut out with little ...

I do not write reviews that much but after finishing the anime i feel like it deserves a review for how amazing it is
Story : Moriarties entire premise is to bring reform to England that has been corrupted by nobles exploiting the commoners and getting away with it. The main casts goal is to bring equality to the entire nation by taking the lives of nobles and giving the commoners the courage to revolt back. This plan ensures that the nobles are conscious of their actions and live in the fear that the lord of crime may target them next and in turn stabilize ...

"Catch me if you can, Mr. Holmes." - Will-"Liam" James Moriarty

The exceptional brillance of Yuukoku no Moriarty a.k.a Moriarty the Patriot follows into its 2nd Cour, after the 1st half has all that reimagining of the classic Arthur Donan Coyle "Sherlock Holmes" novel style into a perfect start. This review will only concern the events in the 2nd Cour, though you should watch Part 1 first and come back to this one when you're done.

The story in the 2nd Cour is elevated through the continuation of the manga adaptation with new arcs and new characters, all of which serves the purpose of the classic plot ...

"Catch me if you can Mr Sherlock" ~ William James Moriarty

We all are familiar with Yuukoku no Moriarty and its brilliance. We finally got a strong well built psychology after the downfall of the said genre in recent years Psychology fans like me can relate how much it means to us *sobs*

• Story: 9
Anyways back to the review. With season 1 ending on a rather random or somewhat under satisfying part, we all were left eagerly waiting for a season 2 to get us some more closure with the series and it delivered right off the bat! With a brilliant start to season 2, we ...

Preliminary (6/13 eps)

Note: For this review I'm effectively including season 1 also.

Yuukoku no Moriarty is a series of two halves, both literally and in terms of its quality. These halves both line up with the two "main" characters, Moriarty and Sherlock Holmes.

The series, as its name would suggest, is meant to be centred upon Moriarty. Moriarty is portrayed as more of a robin hood type figure of crime, using illegal methods to achieve his aim at overthrowing the comically villainous nobility of Victorian Britain.

Unfortunately, Moriarty and those who surround him end up being the worse half of the series. He and his entire crew have little ...

Can different themes and inspirations be mixed together to create something interesting and engaging? More often than not, such series turn out to be disastrous. Because they lack one key ingredient. That is "CHARISMA". Which everyone in YNM have.

Yuukoku no Moriarity takes inspiration from the famous Sherlock Holmes. Although, it's not unique in its essence. But the a series doesn't have to be unique to be enjoyable and this series knows it well. It delivers where most other series fail to do so, It gives importance to its characters and it surely pays off by gripping the attention of its viewers.

Story of the series is ...

I'm a bit biased here but I was looking forward to having another chilling OP to set the mood... except there isn't one.

As a fan of the 2010 British Sherlock TV series (hello to all the Cumbers out there), I found Season 1 extremely fascinating as we got to explore everything from the Lord of Crime's perspective, a thrilling yet chilling experience. As an audience, we can't help but fall in love with the somewhat twisted William Moriarty and subconsciously become his accomplice by relishing in his self-righteous crimes.

However, I find that Season 2 seems to stray a bit too far from our ...

:)(: The first season was good but I feel like this season is going to be
better.I really like the addition of Irene. Adding beautiful girls always
makes an anime better LOL. :)

:: Story: The story is so interesting and I really like the way the story
concentrates on both Moriarty and Sherlock . As far as I saw the story is
so good so it definitely deserves a 9/10.

:: Art: The art is pretty good and fits the theme well. I really like how ...

Tl:dr: A pretty weak sequel to a really good anime. Watch at your own caution

I do want to preface that my knowledge of Sherlock Holmes is minimal, to not say inexistant

Moriarty the Patriot ended in a way that left a lot of viewers, myself included with one major worry. Will the Moriarty point of view shift after season 1 and put us with yet another Sherlock Holmes adaptation? And to that, I'm glad to say the answer is no. Sherlock Holmes will have his screen time as he is after all an important part of the story, but Moriarty will stay the main focus of ...

Yuukoku no Moriarty is an intepretation of the famous novels written by Arthur Conan Doyle, and it's clone in a pretty clever way.

I'll try to explain down below why I highly recommend watching this anime, without spoiling anything. However, I'll talk about some "minor" elements from the first part of this show, so beware if you haven't watched it.

The story :

As you might expect, this anime is about detective work and murder mysteries. One of the main strengths of this anime resides in the fact that it alternates between Moriarty's crew and Sherlock's one. Some episodes/arc will focus more on one group ...

Hah, gives me goosebumps every time Liam says that line.

10/10 Yuukoku no Moriarty first and second season! Everything about it was beautiful! The OP and ED truly gave the feels of the ending!

I'm not gonna give a mind blowing or very deep logical review about this very intriguing anime. I'm just gonna keep it simple.

Yuukoku no Moriarty was just brilliant. Magnificent. Wonderful. Breathtaking.

I didn't review the first season because I didn't feel that strongly about it. It's an okay if unsubtle re-imagining of a character that doesn't actually get fleshed out too much in the source material. Sherlock manages to, through painstaking effort, track down and somehow kill this Machiavellian supervillain mastermind.

Anyway, the second season of this alternate take on Moriarty is silly. That's the best way to describe it. There's a part a few episodes in where a character takes on a new name, and the reveal was SO insanely goofy I couldn't take anything seriously from that point on. The show is fujobait with ...

,,Catch me if you can, Mr. Holmes” -William James Moriarty I’m in love with this line.
It’s the first time when I publicly express my opinion about an anime, but this masterpiece forced me to do that.
At first it didn’t attract me at all, I didn’t even want to give it a chance. I started it at the request of a person whom i love beyond words, telling me that I will fall in love with this anime. What can I say, she was right.
It’s one ...

I really love watching this series as a fan of DC, the only thing that can be better is if the story goes a bit slower so we can enjoy more details.
Overall I like it a lot and I don't want it to end too soon.
The art is amazing, the characters are appealing, it makes you want to read all these Conan Doyle stories if you haven't already.
I advise it to those who love to dive into ideologies...
Also, Alberto is hot! I hope he's not gay :P
Character development is happening too fast as well.
Dialogues are excellent.

An amazing anime basically 9/10
Story 9/10
Ok the story is completely perfect but it got some episodes that didn’t contain any thing special even though this kind of episodes is really rare. But thats still a problem.
Art 10/10
One from the beat art styles I ever saw and production IG made it perfectly the art style is just too clean and the blood it looks perfect. The animation is amazing too but we never saw anything special since its based on the story
Sound 10/10
Really amazing the studio know when to put every OS
Characters 9/10

Part 1 was excellent! And part 2 is airing after a very short amount of time. The art and sory is so good.I like the fact that the protagonist of this show is fighting against the people who don't give a shit about others ( especially the people with low status) and trying to bring justice with his friends.Plot twists are simple not so crazy and complicated as other animes like code geass ( I'm not saying code geass is bad ) but it make sense.Every characters of this show is pretty smug and good looking.

It's just a few episode so I can't use prediction like ...

[This contains some comparisons to season one]

Just like the first season, this anime has hypnotizing characters and super attractive aesthetics. Everything is fired up by implementing new characters in this season, too! However, there's a number of reasons why I rated season one 10/10, but am now giving this an 8/10.

First of all, the pace. Some might like it, some might not. The pace in this anime is noticeably waltzing. It goes slowly from one culmination to another, and sometimes you just find yourself bored and waiting for the next one. It isn't a big deal if you enjoy the characters' casual convos, but it ...

Beautiful Anime full of intrigue. It is one of these animes where you have to think to understand it. The way the whole story was planned out from the beginning makes this anime so good. I really loved it and would hope to see a sequel if possible!

It has the intrigue of death not and the mystery of attack on titan. The relationship between Sherlock and Moriarty makes the show even more enjoyable and gives out Micheal Scoffield and the professor from money heist vibes.

I would really recommend if you are someone that likes more intelligent animes.
Overall i had a lot of fun watching ...

This is an absolutely amazing anime. The drama that goes on between Sherlock and Moriarty while also the conflict of the lower and upper class in London makes this anime so much more enjoyable and realistic. The messages brought to light in this anime still connect with today's society. This is most likely the part I love about the film. The idea of a complete revolution of English in the 20th century to overthrow the class system is eye-opening and I love how they incorporated it into the anime.

I love Sherlock Holmes the Hollywood movie and I have read the books of Sherlock Holmes so ...

Honestly, the story is exciting, maybe a little higher than the first season. But what I like the most is the characters Of course it's a new character named "Irene".

Continuing from the first season, which is like laying out the characters and remembering to proceed like a case-by-case But second season will be an expansion and the case will focus on a larger goal that doesn't know when it will continue like this even if I don't read manga and the case is big like this. it's not a problem for me if it feels any point of interest.

Overall, it is a sequel that should ...
